The Full Greco Setup: Where Guitars Get Reborn

This isn’t a factory reset. It’s a full-blown reinvention. Every guitar that enters the Greco realm leaves transformed—cleaner, tighter, and unmistakably unique.

🔍 Initial Inspection: The Soul Scan

Before anything else, I get to know the guitar. I play it, feel it, and listen to what it’s trying to say. I check fretwork, wiring, and overall condition. If the frets are shot or the wiring’s a mess, I’ll let you know—because chasing perfection on a broken foundation is a waste of time.

🧵 String Removal: Out With the Old

Strings come off—no ceremony, straight to the bin. I remove anything held in place by string tension (tailpieces, locking nuts, floating trems) and set them aside. I’m careful not to scratch your finish or jab myself in the eye. Greco setups are precise, not painful.

🔧 Full Disassembly: Strip It Bare

I take the guitar apart like a puzzle. Neck off. Tuners out. Bridge, knobs, pickup surrounds—all removed or loosened. I leave the wiring intact but expose every corner for cleaning. This is where the transformation begins.

🧼 Deep Clean: Every Inch Matters

Clean guitars play better. Fact. I use Dunlop polish, microfibre cloth. Metal hardware gets detailed with brushes and cotton buds. No solvents. No silicone. Just pure, safe restoration. Every surface shines. Every crevice breathes.

✨ Fret Polish: Shine and Glide

Unless a full fret dress is needed, I mask off the board and polish the frets with ultra-fine steel wool. If they’re grimy, I start with 1000-grit wet/dry paper. Once they gleam, I remove the tape and give the neck a final polish. Smooth frets = smooth playing.

🌿 Fingerboard Treatment: Nourish the Wood

Natural wood boards get a dose of Jim Dunlop lemon oil. I let it soak, then wipe away the grime. If it’s filthy, I go deeper—using Greco magic to lift dirt without damaging the wood. The result? A fingerboard that feels alive again.

🔩 Reassembly & Restring: Built to Play

Once clean, I rebuild the guitar with care. I lubricate screws and bolts Then I string it up—your choice of strings or mine—and tune it for a quick play check. Everything should feel solid and responsive.

⚙️ Setup: The Greco Touch

Now comes the artistry. I adjust truss rod, action, intonation, pickup height, nut slots, and bridge position. Each tweak affects the next, so it’s a dance of balance and intuition. I don’t just set it up—I dial it in so it feels like your guitar, not just a guitar.

🔥 The Greco Signature

Every setup ends with something extra. Maybe a custom tweak, a tonal surprise, or a visual detail that sets it apart. No two Greco setups are alike—because no two players are. This is where your guitar becomes unmistakably yours.
